Lisett Llorens was raised in La Paz, Bolivia, but spent most of her life traveling around the world as the spouse of her U.S. diplomat husband.  Lisett’s life has taken her on a fascinating 35-year odyssey that has included living in ten countries spanning five of the world’s continents. Her diplomatic life has allowed her to meet an incredibly rich and fascinating array of people.  The diplomatic life has also allowed her to live in some of the world’s greatest and most fascinating cities, including Washington DC, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Vancouver, and Sydney. She also lived in Paraguay, Honduras, El Salvador and her last post Kabul, Afghanistan.  Lisett’s life has been enriched by the splendors of the natural world.  She has hiked the majestic Andean peaks and lush emerald rain forests of her native Bolivia, witnessed the midnight sun on the Arctic Circle in the Yukon Territory, swam in black volcanic-sand beaches in El Salvador, lost herself in the poetry of fly-fishing pristine rivers on the farthest reaches of Patagonia, and cherished the stark, harsh beauty and power of the Australian Outback. All of these man-made and natural places and experiences have greatly inspired her soul as an artist.

Lisett studied Science in Communications at the Catholic University of La Paz.  Her professional accomplishments reflect her extensive travels, and include substantial diplomatic work experience.  She was a member of the consular staff at the U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver and the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa.  She managed the Cultural Book Program at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, and was Director of Communications for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Education programs in Kabul, Afghanistan.  In the diplomatic world, Lisett has been Vice President of the Diplomatic Spouses Association in Madrid, and President of the Sydney Consular Women’s Club in Australia.  Lisett is also a proud teacher and has taught Spanish to young people in schools around the world.  Finally, throughout her career she has given back to countless communities around the world.  She has been a dedicated volunteer to numerous organizations including the Cancer Society, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, the Red Cross, orphanages, groups in the fight against domestic violence, drug rehabilitation centers, and Doctors Without Borders.

In terms of her art, Lisett studied fashion and jewelry design at the Donato Delego School in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  She has taken individual art lessons from masters in Buenos Aires, Vancouver, Madrid, Sydney, and the U.S., but ultimately, she is a self-taught artist.  Lisett’s unique style is very intense, personal, and expressive.  She combines her free and creative spirit with discipline, focus and the jeweler’s eye for detail.

Lisett’s works hang in many private collections around the world, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Spain and Japan.
